Discipline vs. Innovation

As a department we are reading a book called "Great by Choice" by Jim Collins and Morten T. Hansen. This book is about companies that have been successful despite market trouble or even collapse. I am into chapter four at this point and the revelation that is jumping out at me is "innovation by itself will not equal breakthrough. Innovation without fanatic discipline with equal disaster." Collins and Hansen show multiple examples of companies that innovated and were not disciplined and this caused them to be inferior in most cases, and no longer existent in some cases.

Why am I saying all this? One word...PATHWAY. For those of you who don't know Pathway is the phone dialer system we are starting to use to make our Heartline calls. I am realizing today that the innovation part is done, but what it needs now is fanatic discipline to make it great. I for one want to choose to make Heartline great. I am sure you feel the same way. So what does all this mean? I am requesting your help in being disciplined, being fanatic about making our innovation, Pathway, a great tool. I want to thank you in advance for your commitment to this tool. A tool that can make us more efficient in ministering to the body of Christ! I look forward to seeing you the weekend of Jan 28/29.
